Hi rogues,

I hope this message finds you all well and in great holiday spirits! I’m excited to share Rogue Owl Press news for the month of December. We also have some great free reads in this newsletter from friends in the independent publishing community. Please check those out below!

Maine Character Energy Charity Anthology Update

In response to the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine mass shooting in October 2023, Rogue Owl Press is publishing a charity collection with 100% of proceeds benefiting Everytown for Gun Safety. Maine Character Energy, edited by Sarah Parke, is slated for release on January 17th. We can’t wait to share more about this project early in the New Year!

Other Projects in the Works

We have a few other big projects in the hopper, including a new Kickstarter in the works for March/April. We’re also working on a super-secret new set of offerings tailored specifically for new creative writers.

Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy 2024 for us, and we’re eager to unveil these projects to the world. More to come soon!

Rogue Owl Author Updates

Renee S. DeCamillis is happy to announce she was invited to write a story and a song for a forthcoming metal music themed anthology. On December 24, 2023, her story “Faceless” will appear in Dethfest Confessions: The Devil’s Playlist, and her song “Flay the Flesh” may be used in part in the book trailer for the anthology. The book is now available for preorder for $6.66 at this link: https://geni.us/DevilsPlaylist

And in other news, Renee’s debut book, The Bone Cutters, just received a new cover and will be republished by Encycopocalypse Publications in early 2024. Renee’s first full-length novel, Chisel the Bone, the sequel to her first book, is set for publication later in 2024 though Encyclopocalypse Publications (release date TBD).

Renee is also now a featured freelance copyeditor on the renowned literary site Reedsy. If you need help polishing your writing, you can find Renee through Reedsy: Find the perfect editor, designer or marketer. It’s free to sign up.

Abject Fear, the new horror novel by Paul Carro, author of The House, is now available! "In the race to cure fear, there will be casualties. And blood, lots of blood." Paul is excited for this project, as it is his first novel since being accepted into the Horror Writers Association.
